Visitors praise the spectacular harbour views, the convenient waterfront location, and legendarily comfortable beds and pillows, though many reviews note that parts of the property feel dated compared to modern standards.
I stayed here with my family when they were visiting Canada. The process of booking was very smooth and easy. The check in was also easy. They gave us all the instructions in advance and made sure everything was ready. We also got free coffee. The view from the building was amazing. We were close to downtown but it did not feel loud or noisy. It was a good balance of city and nature. We had the view of the water and the airport.
The hotel feels a bit aged, but it didn’t affect our overall stay. We had a lake-view room, which was beautiful and relaxing. The pool and gym were great additions, and the breakfast restaurant offered a variety of food options. Valet service was decent as well. Overall, we enjoyed our stay.
Absolutely wonderful! We stayed there to celebrate my husband's 75th birthday. The staff was absolutely wonderful. The room was perfect and the staff made our stay special with their friendly and helpful nature. The extras they provided for us just "wow" us. I cannot say enough good things.
I came to Westin regarding some business I had elsewhere, I can say that I was not disappointed. This is such a pleasant place, the rooms were nice, the lobby looks magnificent, and the pool definitely wasn't something to complain about. The people who tend to the Hotel such as the cleaners and the people who work at the front desk should be paid more as they are doing such a good job. My only concern with this Hotel was that the water coming out of the bathroom sink was grey and cloudy. I don't just want to come here again, I NEED to come here again.
This is a beautiful hotel in a fantastic location. We had a gorgeous room with a view of the water. The room was clean, the beds were very comfortable and a crib was quickly provided for the baby. The drinking water faucet next to the sink was a really nice touch - I’ve never seen that in a hotel before. We enjoyed the large and quiet pool (we came on a Sunday to Tuesday). We enjoyed exploring the family and games room too. The issue we had is that the elevator was broken on our floor for most of the stay. We had to use the service elevator, which was pretty gritty and it also took an extremely long time to come. When we rose the issue with the front desk, they were completely unaware of it. Then later, the service elevator broke too. We were literally trapped on our floor (we have a double stroller so we couldn’t walk down 20 flights of stairs). We had to call a staff member up for assistance and the whole ordeal took so long that we arrived late to our Ripley’s aquarium visit. We rose the issue to the front desk again but they simply said it was out of their control. Sadly, this put a real damper on what was an otherwise beautiful hotel.
We’ve come to the boat show for several years now and always stayed at the harbour castle. The only complaint we have is there is no longer a shuttle to or from the boat show. This year we’re in the newly renovated room which is very nice. The service in the restaurant and the bar is excellent. Everyone we’ve encountered have given us excellent service however special mention should go to Gerry at the front desk. He spent the time to try and satisfy our every whim. This is not the first year we’ve dealt with Gerry and he’s gone over and beyond everytime. Thank you Gerry
This is probably the 16th year that we come to the Westin for the boat show. We are very impressed with the newly renovated rooms. The restaurants are always offering great food but the service and help that we always get from Gerry at the front desk is above and beyond. He always make our stay memorable. Thank you Gerry.
Thoroughly enjoyed my stay here. The room had 2 features that are so simple yet add huge value. first, a filtered water tap. Second, motion activated low level lighting in the washroom. Little things that made the experience great. Also, the breakfast buffet was excellent. Had all of the basics but they were all done very well. Highly recommend.
Great Location and Service, But Rooms Need an Update The Westin Harbour Castle has an excellent location with beautiful waterfront views and easy access to downtown Toronto. The service throughout our stay was very good, and the staff were friendly, professional, and helpful. Valet parking was convenient and smooth, which we appreciated. That said, the room itself could benefit from an upgrade. While it was clean and comfortable, it felt dated compared to what you would expect from a Westin property at this level. A refresh of the rooms would truly elevate the overall experience and better match the prime location and strong service. Overall, a pleasant stay thanks to the location and staff, with room for improvement in the accommodations.
We stayed at the Westin during an early fall trip to Toronto, and check?in was seamless. Valet parking is available right at the entrance, which made arrival straightforward. Our suite was part of a newly renovated wing and felt clean, contemporary, and well?maintained. The bed was comfortable, and the room offered great views overlooking the lake. If you’re booking, it’s worth confirming a room in one of the updated wings, as the renovated suites are a noticeable upgrade. The location is convenient for dining and sightseeing. We had reservations at Don Alfonso 1890, located within the hotel, so getting to dinner was as simple as taking the elevator. It’s also an easy walk to nearby shops and popular spots like the Distillery District. Between the updated room quality and the hotel’s central access to the waterfront and top?tier dining, the Westin works well as a functional and well?located home base for a Toronto visit.
