I stayed at the Soho last week while I was in Toronto and loved it! I stayed on the residence side and the room was amazing. I had all of the accommodations of an apartment, and lots of space. I had an issue with the heat and submitted a maintenance request through the app, I very quickly got a phone call from the front desk in response to my request and they let me know that since it was so late in the evening that nobody would be there until the morning to take a look at it, and they offered me a space heater to help warm up the room. The maintenance person came first thing in the morning and got everything fixed. Thank you so much for taking such great care of me!

The stay itself was fine. However, the hotel charges a mandatory facility fee that is not included in the advertised nightly rate. It is disclosed in the Booking.com fine print, but it increases the total cost and was not mentioned at check-in. We did not use the facilities, yet the fee is compulsory. Because it is separated from the headline rate, it makes the hotel appear cheaper in search results than the true all-in price. I am leaving this review in the hope that the hotel moves toward straightforward, all-in pricing rather than add-on junk fees.

Some places just get it — and the Soho Hotel Toronto truly went above and beyond in a way I will never forget. ?? My husband was in Toronto for work during our 13-year anniversary, and I wanted to find a way to make him feel loved from afar. The team at Soho didn’t just help — they embraced the idea with so much kindness and care. They surprised him with the sweetest setup: a heart balloon, beautiful macaroons, and cupcakes that instantly made his day brighter. They even provided a special email so I could write him a personal letter, which they printed and included with the surprise. The timing couldn’t have been more perfect (and honestly a little funny!) — he was actually on the phone with me when they knocked on the door to deliver everything. Hearing his reaction in real time is a moment I’ll always treasure. What meant the most was how genuine and thoughtful the staff were. They understood exactly how to help a wife trying to make her husband’s business trip feel a little less lonely and a lot more special until he could come home and celebrate together. Soho Hotel Toronto — thank you for your warmth, your attention to detail, and for turning a simple idea into a beautiful memory. We are so incredibly grateful.

Wonderful experience at Soho. The decorations and candle layout that awaited us in the room were above and beyond. It is evident that the staff at Soho truly puts in the effort to achieve ultimate customer satisfaction. Sahad at the front desk was also amazing - his kindness did not go unnoticed. We will be back again.

Excellent experience at SoHo Hotel. The rooms are clean, stylish, and very comfortable, with great attention to detail. The staff is professional, friendly, and always willing to help, making the stay smooth and enjoyable. The location is perfect, close to restaurants, shopping, and key attractions. Was here for work and could not believe how nice the rooms were (and I’ve traveled a lot). Everyone was extraordinarily friendly and helpful. Hotel has an indoor pool and sauna which I was too busy to see but was impressed that was available (along with a gym). Their is a great cafe on one side and a formal restaurant on the other (both connected to the hotel). I don’t typically write hotel reviews but wanted to be sure to give them a shout out, the heated bathroom floors alone deserve a 10/10

I've stayed in a handful hotels in Toronto over the course of the last few months while visiting the city, and I have never experienced such consistent kindness as I have with the team at the SoHo. The hotel itself is beautiful, centrally located, full of modern amenities, and offers wonderful views of downtown Toronto. While many hotels may offer these perks, what has stood out for me with this particular hotel has been the staff. Everyone—from the concierges, to the front desk, to the cleaners—is a class act. You just don't get any better than this. They are empathetic, generous with their time, and full of heart. I would choose this hotel again and again for these reasons. In my three stays here, each one has been wonderful, and these people went out of their way to make me feel comfortable. Thank you SoHo! Keep doing what you're doing! ??

Indifferent staff, late check-in despite requesting an early check in, lack of urgency with desk staff, late housekeeping delayed getting into my room. Offered to get ready for a TIFF premiere in the bathroom which was flooded and had a broken toilet. Upon giving the feedback that I felt rushed and disappointed overall in the hospitality, front desk staff offered me a $25 breakfast credit at 11A when I was already leaving and upon writing to the director of operations 3x in the last month I have yet to receive a reply. I had hoped that this hotel would be a must-book for next year to attend the festival, but I find myself deeply disappointed overall that having paid a luxury price, I did not receive a luxury experience.

Very comfortable and great location. Room was spacious and kettle (with teas) available on request. Molton Brown toiletries. Gym was functional and has everything you need for a work out. I didn't check out the pool and steam room but both available. Staff were friendly and helpful.

We had a very unpleasant experience during our stay, mainly due to the poor service attitude at the front desk, not the other staff members. First of all, the phone in our room was broken, which meant we couldn’t contact the front desk directly. Just to request an extra blanket, we had to go down to the front desk three times. On the first night, after our initial request, we waited a long time and no one brought anything. We went to the front desk again, and although the staff clearly knew we were asking for a blanket, they did nothing for over an hour. In the end, we were given only a rough, itchy blanket that was impossible to use due to how uncomfortable it was. Additionally, the bath towels provided in the room were dirty, which was unacceptable and unhygienic. The next day, I went to the front desk again to request a proper blanket. This time, the staff repeatedly emphasized that “each room is only allowed one blanket” and said they could only give us another throw, something they had never explained beforehand. We had clearly stated that we were allergic to the material of the throw blankets, but there was no empathy or willingness to help. Throughout the entire process, the front desk staff had an extremely unwelcoming attitude and unfriendly expressions, which made us feel completely dismissed. To be fair, the staff who delivered the blankets and the technician who came to fix the phone were polite and friendly, and their professionalism brought us a small sense of comfort. However, the overall stay was still heavily affected by the poor service from the front desk. Considering that all of this happened in a room that costs CAD 550 per night, it was extremely disappointing. We would not choose to stay here again, and we do not recommend this place to other travelers.
