The Hazelton Hotel Toronto offers opulent accommodations and top-tier hospitality in the prestigious Yorkville neighborhood, consistently praised for its luxurious rooms, private feel, and polished service. However, potential guests should be aware of ongoing construction noise in premium rooms and sporadic instances of policy rigidity or uncomfortable profiling from staff.
Be careful to be profiled in this hotel. Was spending over $500 for two person, and then just sitting down for 5 mins in the lobby after one restaurant in the daytime, the door man walked around 5 times looking at me specifically with other 2 staff in the lobby around 2:30PM and then insinuating that I AM A PROSTITUTE. Never in my life had a doorman profiling their guests like that in just 5 mins just because I’m an attractive YOUNG ASIAN man on his phone. Imagine a 5 star property profiling a young attractive man and see him as a threat only 5 mins after he sat down after had lunch at one restaurant? You can see in the camera how they profiling me like that. And I am a yorkville resident that always passing around that area. The old man doorman SEES ME WALKING EVERY DAY outside of hazelton Came back to the hotel to talk to him, the doorman turned so defensive and attacking me back.. is this a 5 star hotel? You guys need to train your staff again on how handling complaints in luxury spaces. If it’s 9:30PM and i sit in the lobby alone by myself for 30 mins, then sure people will think otherwise. Not at 2;30pm, giving me a surveillance walking back and forth staring at me around 2:30 in empty lobby This happened several times already as suggested by other customers in tripadvisor about the staff acting superiority in dealing with their own guests be careful
An outstanding stay from start to finish. The service was exceptional, with the front desk staff being incredibly warm and welcoming. The location is excellent, right in a beautiful and safe neighbourhood and within walking distance of major shopping streets and stores, which made getting around extremely convenient. The room was amazing and very comfortable, with thoughtful details like a pillow menu that truly enhanced the sleeping experience. The bathroom was luxurious, featuring heated floors and a beautiful bathtub with instant hot water. The hotel facilities were excellent, including a stunning indoor pool, a high-tech indoor gym, and a relaxing spa. Room service was fantastic. We chose to dine in, and the food exceeded expectations with a diverse and well-curated menu. Pets are also allowed if you inform the hotel in advance, which is a great bonus. Overall, this was an amazing experience. This was our second visit, and we will definitely return for a third stay. Highly recommended.
The Hazelton Hotel is classic Yorkville luxury done right. The location is unbeatable, right in the middle of everything, but once you are inside it feels calm, private, and discreet. The hotel has a refined, old school feel without being stuffy, and it manages to feel upscale while still comfortable. Rooms are spacious, quiet, and very well finished, with great bathrooms and a layout that actually feels livable rather than just pretty. Service is polished and professional but not overbearing, which adds to the sense of ease. It is the kind of place that feels effortlessly high end rather than flashy, and that is what makes it stand out. A great option if you want luxury, privacy, and a proper hotel experience without the scene feeling forced.
Booked a “quiet” premium room for health reasons (concussion)—turns out the hotel’s idea of quiet is jackhammers at dawn. They generously waited until the morning after I booked to mention the construction. Cancelled, of course—wouldn’t recommend this five-star headache to my worst enemy. UPDATE: The hotel allowed us to book a room for $1100/night knowing that there was ongoing construction. They were also aware that we needed a quiet room. Despite this, they did not notify us about construction until the day after booking. FYI Expedia can take up to 15 days to process a refund. Buyer beware. And no we don't have a desire to communicate with you any further. Go waste someone else's time and money.
A transcendent weekend of pure perfection — once you’ve experienced this, nothing else compares in Toronto. While we love many of The Four Seasons properties in North America and abroad, in Toronto they simply can't compare to the Hazelton experience. This hotel and staff set the bar for excellence in this city. Thanks to everyone who made our weekend stay with our Service Dog Moe so memorable!!
I had an absolutely exceptional stay at The Hazelton Toronto. From the moment I arrived, the service was impeccable—warm, attentive, and genuinely caring. Every staff member I encountered went out of their way to make me feel welcomed and looked after. The room was beautifully designed, spotless, and incredibly comfortable. The little details truly set the Hazelton apart: luxurious amenities, a serene atmosphere, and thoughtful touches that made the space feel both elegant and inviting. The bed was unbelievably comfortable, and the overall ambiance made it easy to unwind and relax. The location in Yorkville is perfect—steps away from amazing restaurants, cafés, and boutiques—yet the hotel still feels private and peaceful. The concierge team was fantastic with recommendations and made everything effortless. Overall, my stay was flawless. The Hazelton delivers true luxury with heart, and I can’t wait to return. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a memorable, high-end stay in Toronto.
There is no doubt that The Hazelton is a beautiful hotel, located in one of the best areas of Toronto. Its setting and facilities are exceptional — which is why it was especially disappointing when a personal item of sentimental value belonging to my family was mishandled during a recent stay and the initial follow-up did not meet the standards we expect from a luxury property. Errors and lapses can happen; I have always believed that how an organization responds to those moments says far more about its character than what happens when everything goes smoothly. Initially we were frustrated and disheartened by the way our concern was handled. That perspective changed entirely when General Manager Mr. Gaurav Dutta personally intervened. Mr. Dutta took the time to call both my daughter and me, listened with genuine empathy, and followed up directly. He arranged for gorgeous flowers to be delivered to us and offered additional remedies to address the situation. I will not recount the specifics here, but his prompt, thoughtful, and accountable approach went well beyond our expectations. Mr. Dutta’s personal involvement — his clear communication, professionalism, and sincere commitment to making things right — restored our confidence in The Hazelton. We were truly impressed by the care shown and now feel comfortable recommending the hotel to others who value accountability and exceptional guest service.
The Hazelton Hotel truly exceeded all expectations. From the moment I arrived, I was blown away by how beautiful the area is and how grand the hotel feels. Everything is spotless, elegant, and thoughtfully designed, making it such a pleasure just to be here. What really sets the Hazelton apart is the level of service. I have never experienced such outstanding customer care anywhere else. Every staff member I encountered went above and beyond to make sure my stay was comfortable, seamless, and special. They were attentive without being overbearing, and you can tell they genuinely care about their guests. It’s rare to find a place that combines luxury, warmth, and excellence in every detail—but the Hazelton does exactly that. I left feeling impressed and taken care of in every way. I will definitely be back, and I highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for an unforgettable stay.
From start to finish, a wonderful addition to the Toronto hotel scene. I come a few times a year to town and have never really found the right repeat spot. The Hazelton definitely delivered. The service is consistent and exceptional, and the amenities (gym, etc.) are on point for the top of the market. Very strong recommendation.
I stayed at the Hazelton for 5 days while visiting my daughter and I'm so glad she recommended it. All the staff I met were highly professional, friendly and accommodating. It reminded me of watching a documentary about The Savoy. The room was fabulous, clean, well-appointed and cozy for such a large space. Yorkville felt very safe for walking around. Restaurants were simply wonderful, elegant yet casual with excellent menus. This place is one I HIGHLY recommend!
