The Broadview Hotel consistently receives positive feedback for its unique vintage charm, convenient location near popular Toronto attractions, and attentive staff. While some guests appreciate the rooftop bar and historic ambiance, others have experienced issues with service and certain amenities, particularly regarding breakfast quality and parking.

Booked the winter market room package for a couple nights to attend a nearby concert and the the distillery district winter market. The hotel itself is a beautiful heritage building conveniently located a short trip from both HISTORY and Rebel concert venues (walkable, just maybe not great in the winter!) as well as the distillery district. Package included two priority access winter village tickets, two complimentary cocktails at the rooftop bar, breakfast for two, a bottle of Broadview Hotel Red, and a cute lil' candle. Extraordinarily fair value for everything included. The room (king sitting suite facing Broadview) was lovely with exceptional amenities, (save for the unsurprisingly mold-ridden coffee maker, but that's expected) and very nicely decorated. Loved the provided record player and selection of music - couldn't find the record library, but love that it's available! Glass bottles are provided for water, and refill taps were bar-style with both still and sparkling to our pleasant surprise. Provided towels and bathrobes were quality enough to be a highlight, and the selection of organic soaps were quite lovely. Bedding was unbelievably comfortable. I can't stress enough how much of a highlight the towels and bedding were - we took every extra second we could to just stay cozied up before checkout. Worth mentioning as well that despite being on a fairly busy street corner, it's exceptionally soundproofed and my VERY light-sleeper partner had no issues. The Rooftop has lovely views day & night and the cocktails were fantastic. Worth a visit itself especially in the warmer months when the patio opens. Calabrian Cauliflower and the focaccia were incredible, and they were more than happy to accommodate my request for an all-mezcal 'Smoke Show' which was lovely. Only downside - the breakfast in the lobby bistro was frankly abysmal in both quality and service. The manager/supervisor was oddly hawkish and outright rude, very obviously trying to push out every patron as fast as possible despite the room being near entirely empty - none of us were lingering, either, this was happening 5 minutes after receiving our food. On that note, the food was underwhelming and multiple components of both our orders were completely wrong - wrong toast on both plates, wrong proteins, eggs cooked the literal opposite of each of our requests. When we raised this concern, they brought out extra of each of the wrong items. It was impressively incompetent. There are several lovely breakfast spots a short walk down the street that I highly encourage any guests to mosey over to before even thinking about popping into the bistro (check out Bonjour Brioche down the road!). On a similar note, coffee was just fine, but given the area and how many excellent cafes are in walking distance, I'd skip on it. If the meal hadn't been complimentary with our booking, and the coffees comp'd without request (only upside), I'd probably be a lot more than miffed. Unfortunately, The Civic was closed during our time there, and it looks like they're set to launch a new restaurant in the space that I'm looking forward to checking out as soon as they open. Not sure what the updated space is going to look like, but the former setup was visible in the lobby and was gorgeous. Check-in and check-out was wonderful and lobby staff were great to chat with, giving us some much appreciated history on the building and local recommendations unprompted. Key card access to lobby was great for all of our late night outings. Assuredly not just a would-stay again, but a will-stay again.

We came last summer to scope out The Broadview for our micro wedding by having dinner on the rooftop last summer and knew within minutes this was the right place. This 135 year-old building is beautifully restored and brimming with vintage charm everywhere. Food was delicious and the vibe was great. Rooms are unique and beautiful, The Bistro restaurant on the ground floor also a classy spot. And the views of downtown Toronto from the Rooftop Bar and Patio is fantastic. We had our wedding in late January 2026 up high in the Tower Room with our small group of 14 and it was the perfect private dining space for our party. Our friendly, caring and lovely Event Manager was Kathleen who patiently answered all our many email questions and met with us to go over the details before our event. She was amazing, super-organized and took excellent care of us throughout the entire process making sure every detail we needed was accommodated. The entire Broadview Team was excellent, friendly and professional. They set up the dining tables and chairs against the walls first to allow our wedding procession and afterward the ceremony they put the two tables together in a square so we could all sit around the perimeter for dinner. The setup allowed us to have the wedding ceremony, procession with flower girl, unity candle, signing, first dance, music and dinner all in the same space. All our guests had rooms there as well for two nights and we went into Toronto for other events making it the perfect venue to get married in. The food, drinks, staff and service were all 5-star. We had a great time and highly recommend The Broadview Hotel. Also a big shout-out to The Marry Men officiants and The Eastcore Photojournalists all of them are best in the business. Thanks again Kathleen and everyone at The Broadview, we'll be back on our first anniversary!

We booked this hotel because of its proximity to the Opera House which was about a minute walk and it couldn’t have been better. The hotel itself has such character and beautiful rooms. We went to the rooftop bar for happy hour and the atmosphere was great (so were the cocktails), and the coffee bar in the lobby was perfect in the morning. They have parking as well but it was full, so we parked in the lot across the street.

We had an amazing stay here! Loved the room with the balcony area even in the winter. Beautiful hotel. Really nice touches like the record player. We can’t wait to stay here again.

It's a beautiful hotel; it has a very unique and bougie vibe. My room was clean, spacious, and well decorated. The bathroom was very clean as well. The room also has blackout curtains which is a nice touch. I ordered room service twice and both times the food and drinks were delicious and delivered in a timely manner. Isha at the front desk was so sweet and super helpful! I will definitely be staying here in the future when I'm in Toronto.

We booked The Broadview Hotel, Rooftop bar n restaurant for December 31st to celebrate my daughter’s birthday. Since it’s New Year’s Eve, finding a place that feels special is always challenging, so I made the reservation three weeks in advance. Two ladies at the front desk were incredibly kind, helpful, and professional. I asked if it would be possible to bring a cake earlier in the day and arrange for it to be cut in the evening. Not only did they say yes without hesitation, but when I brought the cake, they went above and beyond by helping arrange it beautifully with flowers. Their thoughtfulness truly meant a lot to us. That evening, we went up to the rooftop for dinner, and the experience exceeded all expectations. We were given a corner table as requested, and the service was warm, welcoming, and attentive throughout the night. The food was delicious, well-presented, with generous portions, and the prices were very reasonable—especially for such a special date and location. Thanks to the incredible staff and overall experience, my daughter felt truly special on her birthday. We are very grateful to The Broadview Hotel team for making this evening so memorable. Highly recommended, and we will definitely be back.

My wife and I recently celebrated our anniversary with a staycation at the Broadview Hotel and it was amazing! The staff went above and beyond to ensure it was an unforgettable experience. The amenities really set this hotel apart from your typical chain hotel. Our perfect Sunday brunch capped off a weekend we’re never going to forget. Highly recommended.

I booked a room in this restored historic hotel as it was near an event I was attending. The area is interesting although plagued by the same issues that many parts of downtown Toronto is struggling with. The hotel is a delightful sanctuary offering good value and a responsive front desk. It is beautifully decorated in a downplayed Soho House style. The roof top bar and restaurant is well worth visiting.

We book this place for 12:30. Unfortunately there’s bo coffee served on the rooftop or brunch. Had I known this before I would have been mentally prepared. Food was below average, i understand vegetarian options are scarce but bolognese had very much of Indian flavor. I was starving so i ate the pasta and left everything else. Our server Shayne tried to make this experience better but it was just a weird experience for me. Not sure if i will ever be back.

Stayed for 5 nights. Staff were great! The hotel is located not far from downtown. Very walkable location and the streetcar stops right outside. Room was quiet but could have been a bit cleaner: dust and crumbs in corners and under the bed. We had a view of the dog park next door, which was entertaining. Rooftop bar has a great view of the city. Would stay again.
