The Pan Pacific Toronto appears to be a generally well-regarded hotel, particularly appreciated for its location and cleanliness, with recent renovations improving amenities. However, reliability issues with elevators and inconsistent service are recurring concerns raised by reviewers. Some guests report unexpected fees and issues with room temperature control.
The lovely hard working young woman who works at the pool is amazing. Kind, thoughtful and always doing something to make the pool better. A joy and a huge resource for the hotel. Promote this woman. As well, the men and women who clean the rooms were so helpful and accommodating. I am traveling with my daughter and granddaughter. I am watching granddaughter and the 4 th floor cleaning staff are amazingly kind and helpful. Thank you good people.
This place tries really hard to be a fancy hotel but has a multiplicity of shortcomings. Let's start with the fact that they charge $20 per night for parking. This is totally bogus and unnecessary. They also didn't disclose this to me when I made my reservation. Another issue, there is no stairwell! Not literally, but it is only for use if there is a fire. It leads outside and is not allowed to be used if there is not an emergency. You literally cannot even access the stairwell from the lobby. You're FORCED to take the elevator, which is very slow about half the time. So, if you don't want to wait, or if you want to get a little exercise using the stairs, or if you don't enjoy being in a confined space with strangers, too bad for you. The elevator is your only option. A third ridiculous thing is this. Upon checkin, they take a deposit. I was told that if I wanted to pay my deposit in cash it would be FIVE HUNDRED DOLLARS. This is an absurd amount of money. I provided it to them but it left me with almost no cash left over for my trip to Toronto (I visited from the United States). Lastly, there is no guest laundry. For such a big place with all sorts of amenities, there are no washers and dryers for guests to do laundry. I have stayed at Motel 6's with guest laundry. There are other things but I'll end my review here. I spent about $200 a night, yet I was continually left shaking my head at the way the Crowne Plaza chose to go about doing business.
I had a fantastic stay at Crowne Plaza North York. From the moment I arrived, the staff made me feel genuinely welcome. Their professionalism and warmth really stood out and made a big difference. The hotel has a relaxing, resort-like atmosphere, which made it easy to unwind after a long day. Everything was very clean, from the rooms to the common areas, and it’s clear they take pride in maintaining the property. The location is also very convenient, making it easy to get around and access nearby places. What impressed me most was how focused the team is on customer service. They really go above and beyond to make sure guests have a great experience. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it.
We recently stayed for one night at the Crowne Plaza and while I would stay there again, there were two things that were not ideal: Our room was at the rear side and we were awakened at about 3:15 am by extremely loud metal banging noises and we realized that it had to have been from some truck picking up one or more dumpster containers. Do youself a favour and book a room at the front of the hotel! Also, the sliding doors to our room were not sealing well and since it was a very windy night there was a constant whistling of air passing through and it also made the room quite chilly. FYI: Our room was #715 As far as checking in and out everything was perfect and the staff were very friendly and helpful. I also found the room key system worked very well--much better than the old cards that often failed and required multiple attempts to unlock the door. The room was clean and well appointed although the matresses were a bit soft for our liking, but that's a personal thing, and thus it's difficult to please everyone. We ate dinner at their restaurant and the service was excellent and the food was fine--simple fare, like a burger, fries, salad, Poke Bowl, steak, Club Sandwich, etc.--in other words, something to satisfy most tastes. Having had to leave early the next morning before they opened for breakfast we can't comment on that service; except to say that we understood that it is buffet style. So as noted, we'd consider staying there again, and we had a decent rate using Expedia to book. But we'd request a room at the front of the hotel.
I’ve stayed here several times, and the rebrand from Pan Pacific to IHG in January 2026 has been a game-changer. The elevator issues are finally solved, and the gym renovation looks amazing! Rooms are clean, and I love that almost every room has a balcony. The staff is very kind, though the front desk team seems to change frequently. They have a bar and breakfast on-site, but if you want to explore, there are great breakfast and dinner spots within walking distance. Just a heads-up: it’s a popular spot for summer weddings and winter hockey teams. Rates are reasonable but do go up in the summer!
We had a very pleasant stay at this 4-star hotel. The check-in process was smooth, and the staff were polite and helpful throughout our visit. The room was clean, comfortable, and well-maintained. The beds were good, and the space felt practical and nicely arranged. The amenities met expectations for a 4-star property. Overall, it was a solid experience and good value for the quality provided. I would consider staying here again.
Good location it is located in Midtown Toronto which is good because it is not far away from downtown Toronto, and surprisingly our room is facing the downtown Toronto which you can see the CN Tower on clear skies. The front desk and the housekeeper is polite and friendly. The lobby is chill and cozy. The room is always neat, it has everyday refreshments and cleaning. The hotel employees are also polite and friendly. Overall, the room is comfortable, cozy and relaxing. We stayed here during the snowy season of Toronto, so we really enjoyed watching the snowfall every single time, it feels like a wallpaper video on Youtube. (15 Days | Dec 22, 2025 to Jan 5, 2026)
Service was okay and the rooms were clean and comfortable. However, the lack of in-room dining options was disappointing and reduced overall convenience. The gym is available but not well equipped, which may be a downside for guests who prioritize fitness. The restaurant is ok with good food and beverages.Overall, an average stay with room for improvement.
Honestly stayed at 2.5 or 3 star hotels that have better service than this place. The hotel is clearly aware of the thermostat issue in the rooms upon reading previous reviews, however they don't seem to care about their paying customers experiences and provide no true resolutions to the MULTIPLE issues in the rooms, even after they changed us to a new room THE MORNING of check out - as if that was going to help the night of sleep we lost & the losses incurred as a result. The new room they changed us to after finding hair on the bed in the first room, had a bunch of mould in the shower stall. Absolutely shocking as some 3 star hotels are more maintained and have better customer care and compassion as this "4 star" hotel.
The Pacific was always a great option for staying in Toronto but it has sharply declined in quality. 4 big problems arose this trip. 1. The water in the bathroom only arrived at 1 temperature, boiling hot. Making showers and getting ready difficult and impossible to drink water. A ticket was issued after the first night of have it fixed and nothing changed. 2. The rooms AC doesn’t work. The loud fan would run constantly but never cool the room down. It was too hot to sleep. 3. Finally there was blood on the shower curtain and the pillows bunched into balls of filling. 4. The fridge quit after during the stay ruining about $100 worth of food brought for the trip. Over all this was a terrible experience followed up but a lacklustre response by the duty manger. It’s too bad this used to be such a good hotel option.
