The Novotel Toronto Centre consistently receives positive feedback for its central location, proximity to major attractions like Union Station and the CN Tower, and comfortable beds. While some guests appreciate the friendly staff and convenient access to dining and entertainment, recurring concerns include inconsistent housekeeping, noisy walls, and limitations with certain amenities like the hot tub. Overall, it's a solid choice for exploring Toronto, particularly for those prioritizing location and value.
Service was excellent. Friendly and helpful staff. My room was good. However, the bathroom looked like it belonged in a 3 star hotel. Wallpaper peeling off, stains on the walls. The bed was suuuuuuuper comfy. One of the best hotel beds I’ve ever slept on. In room safe was big - can hold a laptop. Walls are paper thin. I could hear guests in their rooms across the hall. Wifi was excellent. Restaurant was great. Walking distance to Union station, CN tower and Scotiabank arena. There is a pub, restaurant and corner store on the same street.
My husband and I came to Toronto to see a show and chose the Novotel to stay at because of the location close to Union Station. We showed up early with luggage and requested if we could leave the luggage stored until our check-in time. They advised it was no problem at all. They also checked to see if any rooms were ready and to our surprise they were able to book us into our room right away. The room was clean and did not have that musty smell as some hotel rooms do. There was a personalized message on the TV screen. After our matinee show, we headed back to the hotel and were greeted upon entry. We relaxed in our hotel room and with the view out of our window to some great restaurants we chose The Keg to eat at which was right across the street and we did not need to wear our coats. After supper, we went for a dip in the pool and relaxed in the hot tub. We took a tour of the gym, which was well equipped, and each washroom had a sauna. The bed and pillows were very comfortable and we both slept right through the night. The street is not long and there is not a lot of traffic so there was not any traffic noise that we noticed. We paid the extra when we booked for the breakfast buffet. Best choice ever! There were so many options to choose from. From scrambled eggs to smoothies from sausage and bacon to fruit and yogurt from toast and pastries to cold cuts and cheese. And if there was something that you wanted, that wasn’t there, the kitchen was willing to accommodate. And the pot of coffee they leave on your table was awesome. We will definitely be staying at this hotel the next time we are in Toronto.
Great Location, friendly staff in the the lobby and good breakfast and coffee, great cleaning staff. Rooms were mostly clean besides a couple of towels with suspicious stains that I discarded. Beds were comfortable and clean but pillows were too thick for my liking but that’s a personal preference. I think the rooms are starting to show some age but overall for the price and location I would come back.
I had a wonderful stay at the Novotel in Toronto. The quality of service was excellent from start to finish, and the staff made me feel genuinely welcome throughout my stay. Everyone was professional, friendly, and always ready to help with a smile. The hotel’s location is also a major advantage. Being connected to the mall and situated right in downtown Toronto makes it incredibly convenient for shopping, dining, and exploring the city. Everything you need is within easy reach. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Toronto.
We spent two nights in a king room that was very spacious and very clean! Sheets and towels were very good, bed was comfortable and the TV was huge. Buffet breakfast was included and quite good. Usually would not hit the buffet two mornings in a row but we did here.
I would rate my stay at the Novotel Toronto a 3 out of 5. The location is very convenient, parking is very good, and the staff were friendly and welcoming, especially at the bar and during breakfast. On the downside, the bed was not very comfortable, as the edges were dipping down on all sides. Housekeeping was inconsistent, with the cleaning crew coming at random times, which led to several days where the room was not cleaned unless we called the front desk. Breakfast was exactly the same every day during our 11-day stay, and there were sometimes long queues just to be seated. Overall, a decent stay due to location and staff, but comfort and service consistency need improvement
Hotel is very central to all sightseeing activities Hotel is nice clean and tidy. Breakfast is good lots of variety staff run off their feet everyday literally. Only issue i have is there a dress code? People wandering around in there pjs. Really... Just get dressed it's called etiquette.
The Novotel is my go to hotel when I stay in Toronto. Every time I return it feels like a home away from home. What can I say? It is in a wonderful location with so many great things near by - coffee shops, the Eaton Centre, Union Station, transit, St. Lawrence market, the CN tower, the Well, Queen Street West, amazing restaurants...the list goes on! Not to mention the hotel itself feels cozy. The lobby is always pretty, the restaurant is nice, the rooms are always clean and the staff are so polite. They call me "Miss" and "Madam" and it thrills me. Truly my favorite place to stay.
We stayed at the Novotel Toronto Centre for two nights, one of which we were seeing a show at Meridian Hall, and one night we had dinner at The Old Spaghetti Factory. Both of these are located steps away from the Novotel, right on The Esplanade. You can't beat this location for it's proximity to many other restaurants, entertainment venues, and shopping. Union Station is also steps away so it's very convenient no matter where you are headed. For the price point this hotel is very well appointed and feels just a small step down from luxury. Rooms are newly renovated and clean, there are lots of places to plug in devices. The fitness centre is great with a lot of excellent equipment and there is also a pool and sauna. We ate at the hotel restaurant which has a great little menu as well. We stayed in a standard room which was fine for our purposes, but for a bit of additional cost the executive rooms are more spaceous and have additional amenities such as a Nespresso coffee maker, a small sitting area, and bathrobes/slippers. Parking is available directly below the hotel for $40/night, there is also plenty of green P parking available about a block away. My only downsides would be the shower design was a little awkward with the bath products affixed to the wall very near the shower-head area (I banged my arm a couple of times), and the products themselves were not to my taste (too floral). Also, the TV didn't have any streaming options and our only resort was to connect a laptop with HDMI cable. But overall, it was a great stay and we would definitely return! It is certainly the most economical, truly nice hotel to stay at in this part of Toronto, miles less expensive than other similarly appointed hotels in the area. If you want luxury (and to pay the price), The Royal York is down the street, but I would sooner upgrade to an executive room or suite at the Novotel and enjoy the superior location and savings. You'd have plenty of cash left over for The Old Spaghetti Factory :P
3 nights stay for a concert. I upgraded to a fabulous junior suite for a minimal charge. Super comfy bed. Pool and hot tub were so wonderful to have as it started snowing that week. Wonderful staff, great restaurant. My only suggestions are: -The larger suites need an additional mirror outside the bathroom - The pub across the street is loud at night if you stay in a room on the north side. Bring ear plugs. - 2 robes per room should be standard, not 1. Just means we have to ask for what should already be available.
