The Marriott Downtown at CF Toronto Eaton Centre receives generally positive feedback, primarily due to its prime location within the Eaton Centre and its convenient access to downtown attractions. Guests consistently praise the friendly and helpful staff, comfortable rooms, and overall welcoming atmosphere. However, recurring concerns involve inconsistent hot water in the showers, occasional dated room conditions, and pricing inconsistencies.
FANTASTIC! Room was great. Super quiet! Room size was terrific! Walk in shower great! Hot water fluctuation in the shower not so much. Room was DARK! So wonderful to not have lights all night long.
Great location, quiet and clean. A much better place to stay than many other alternatives in the area, which I have stayed at over my last 20 years of coming to TO. Only issue was one of the several nights I stayed was twice the cost of the next most expensive night. A little more diligent planning, if your schedule is flexible, can make for a more economical experience.
I recently stayed at the Marriott Downtown at CF Toronto Eaton Centre, and it turned out to be a great place to stay while visiting Toronto. The location is probably the biggest highlight. Being directly connected to CF Toronto Eaton Centre makes everything incredibly convenient. You can step right out of the hotel and be in the middle of downtown shopping, restaurants, and attractions. Dundas Square, the subway, and a lot of the city’s main areas are all within walking distance, which makes getting around Toronto really easy. The hotel itself has a comfortable, modern feel. The rooms are clean and well maintained, and the city views are beautiful—especially at night when the lights of downtown Toronto really come alive. It’s the kind of view that makes you want to sit by the window for a while and just take in the atmosphere of the city. The bar and restaurant area is also a great spot to relax. The space has a nice balance of casual and upscale, making it a perfect place to grab a drink after a long day of exploring the city. The drinks were well made, and the overall vibe felt welcoming and laid back. What really made the stay stand out was the customer service. The staff were friendly, professional, and helpful throughout the entire stay. Check-in was smooth, questions were answered quickly, and everyone we interacted with made the experience feel easy and enjoyable. Overall, the Marriott Downtown at CF Toronto Eaton Centre is a fantastic option if you want to stay right in the center of the city. Between the unbeatable location, great views, comfortable rooms, and excellent service, it’s definitely a place I’d stay again when visiting Toronto.
The front desk staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, which immediately made us feel at ease. During the Christmas period, the hotel even offered complimentary hot chocolate and churros, which was such a lovely festive touch and really added to the atmosphere. The facilities were excellent. There is a 24-hour gym, which is very convenient, and the swimming pool stays open until 11pm. Towels are also provided at the pool, so you do not need to bring your own, which is always appreciated. Overall, the staff were warm and attentive, and the hotel had a genuinely welcoming and festive atmosphere. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
I stayed at the Marriott Downtown at CF Toronto Eaton Centre years ago, and the warmth and comfort of that visit have stayed with me ever since. Recently, I passed by on a snowy, wet night while walking around Yonge Street and the Eaton Centre, and the moment I saw the building again, all those memories came back. There’s something powerful about this hotel being right in the heart of downtown Toronto — surrounded by lights, energy, and the rhythm of the city — yet my stay back then felt so cozy and calm. Even just standing outside in the rain reminded me how welcoming it was inside. I took a few photos that night and knew I’d return when time allows. It’s more than just a convenient location; it’s a place that holds a feeling. I’ve included a few photos from my walk around the area — even after all these years, the surroundings still feel familiar and full of memories connected to my stay.
This was one of my worst experiences with Marriott hotels ever, and I say this as someone who has stayed at Marriott hotels in more than ten countries. The Toronto Marriott is outdated, and the staff's approach and procedures are unnecessarily complicated. Something as simple as checking into my room turned into a frustrating experience. I was asked to show my original ID, and the staff member absolutely refused to accept a photocopy or scan, even though my passport details were already in their system. To make matters worse, I had to walk back to my car in the freezing cold to retrieve my ID. This level of rigidity and illogicality is unacceptable and completely unprofessional. Mark was the worst employee I have ever dealt with in any hotel. His attitude was unhelpful. The overall service was abysmal: • Water was not readily available and had to be requested repeatedly. • The rooms were old and uncomfortable. • There was no flexibility, no hospitality, and no guest care. • The price was exorbitant for what was offered. The only redeeming quality was the location—nothing else. I deeply regret my choice of this hotel, and I would not recommend it to anyone expecting the standard of Marriott hotels.
The location is great and the rooms were average; however, the service was very poor especially the bellman. He sent away my Uber, and I had to wait in the cold for it to return during rush hour. The bellman was very ill-mannered.
Giving 3 stars for the following reasons: - Noise: I expected more noise insulation in the room, as I could hear other guests around my room. I was awoken multiple times throughout the night when other guests ran their shower. It was pretty loud. - Breakfast buffet. For that price, I expected way more selection. The chicken sausages were tasteless. None of the different croissants had any chocolate in them. The only chocolate was on the pancake sauce. I just expected way more variety for that price. As for the rest of the experience, the hotel staff were very kind and accommodating. The room was neat and had a nice view. The location is very convenient, and the underground parking was nice to have.
I had a wonderful stay at this hotel! The atmosphere was warm and inviting from the moment I arrived. I especially loved the lobby area in the evening, it felt so welcoming and cozy, with the perfect ambiance to relax after a long day. My room was clean, comfortable, and beautifully maintained. The staff were friendly, attentive, and made me feel right at home. Overall, an excellent experience, and I would happily stay here again!
My wife and I (Vidler) are Marriott Gold Elite members and had the occasion to spend 2 nights (10/24-10/26) at the Marriott Downtown at CF Eaon Centre. We travel regularly from the New Jersey area to Toronto but we had never stayed at this hotel. The hotel offered the very best in service and ammeniies. Our personal check list for great accommodation includes: Location, Courtesy and friendly staff througout the hotel, complimentary breakfast items, Sufficient room size square footage, hotel safe, room refrigerator, bathroom with generous counter space, daily housekeeping service, king size bed plus a roomy couch, Ice machines on EVERY floor, Free WIFI, fine dining room in hotel. And all this for a very competitive room rate. Marriott, thanks for checking all our boxes. We'll be back!
