The Holiday Inn Toronto Downtown Centre offers a convenient downtown location with access to attractions and transportation. While praised for its cleanliness, friendly staff, and proximity to amenities, recent reviews highlight concerns about room size, outdated facilities, and inconsistent service experiences. Despite some issues, it remains a reasonable value option for travelers.

We had a great stay! People at the check-in were friendly and helpful. Our room attendant Paulette was lovely and took great care of our room. The thing I appreciated most was when I called the front desk and asked if they could remove the scented soaps from the bathroom as I'm allergic and they sent 2 people immediately to take them. Would definitely stay here again.

I had a very disappointing experience during my 3-night stay at this hotel with my family. From the beginning, the air conditioning in our room did not work properly. It would automatically slow down and stop cooling effectively, making the room uncomfortable, especially during the night. The most concerning issue was finding a cockroach in our room. When I immediately reported it to the front desk, the staff apologized and moved us to another room. While I appreciated the room change, I was surprised that the response was limited to a simple "sorry" given the seriousness of the situation. As a family traveling with children, finding a cockroach in a hotel room raised serious concerns about cleanliness and hygiene. After the room change, I continued to express my concerns and had to complain more than once before the hotel finally acknowledged the impact of the incident and refunded the cost of one night's stay. Although the room was changed and a one-night refund was eventually provided, it did not make up for the discomfort, inconvenience, and concerns for my family's well-being during our stay. For a hotel that should prioritize guest comfort and cleanliness, this experience fell far below expectations. Based on my experience, I would not recommend staying here and will not be returning in the future.

My recent stay at the Holiday Inn Toronto Downtown Centre was an absolute nightmare that resulted in physical injury and hundreds of dollars in property damage. ?During our stay, my travel partner woke up with a severe, highly inflamed, and clustered red rash across their legs, feet, and hands. The distinct pattern was unmistakable: a severe bed bug infestation from the room's mattress. Because bed bug bites have a biological latency period, the full severity of the clusters didn't completely flare up until the morning of our check-out, at which point we immediately brought the physical evidence to management. ?We spoke directly with Brendan Jayawardene, the Director of Front Office & Guest Services. Upon reviewing the extensive bites on my partner's skin, Mr. Jayawardene acknowledged the severity of the issue, apologized, and gave us a binding verbal commitment that the hotel would issue a full 100% refund for our 3-night stay, instructing us to finalize it through Agoda. ?However, the moment we left the property, management completely backed out of their promise. Instead of honoring their director's verbal contract, they covertly fought our claim behind the scenes and tried to pass off a deficient, insulting "one-night partial refund" through Agoda support, falsely claiming we didn't report it early enough. ?The financial and physical toll of this hotel’s negligence has been massive. To ensure we didn’t track vectors into our vehicle or home, we were forced to throw away expensive hard-cased luggage on the road, spend hours decontaminating our car, and permanently ruin high-end delicate clothing items in commercial laundromat high-heat dryers. ?A full formal complaint will be submitted to Toronto Public Health via 311 to mandate an official health and property standards inspection of this building. If you value your health, your clothes, and your wallet, stay far away from this location. Management is dishonest and will back out of their word the second you walk out the front door.

We had a wonderful stay at Holiday Inn Toronto Downtown Centre. The hotel was very clean, comfortable, and honestly much better than we expected for a 3-star hotel. The rooms and common areas were well maintained, and everything felt fresh and welcoming. The location is excellent and made it very easy for us to get around Toronto and visit different attractions. The staff were also very friendly and helpful throughout our stay, which made the experience even better. Overall, we were very happy with our stay and would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Toronto looking for a clean, comfortable, and conveniently located place to stay.

Great staycation during the first week of March. Professional and friendly staff! Room was spacious and very clean. The pool temperature was warm and very comfortable. Hapy hour(s) at lobby bar was perfect of us before heading out to catch a show. Plenty of choice/options at the breakfast restaurant. Definitely a great place to stay and enjoy Toronto life. Highly recommend.

????? We stayed here last night and overall had a good experience. The hotel was clean, well kept, and had a nice atmosphere. Staff were pleasant and everything ran smoothly during our stay. The rooms are quite small and the hallways are very narrow, so it can feel a bit tight, especially if you have luggage. That would be my only real downside. On the positive side, the pool was very warm — honestly warmer than most hotels we’ve stayed at, which was a great bonus. For the price, it was definitely worth it. Overall, a solid stay and good value.

Granted, I came during off season and am not picky about hotels, but I don’t understand all of the negative reviews. My room was clean, quiet, and a standard size compared to other hotels I’ve been to. Check in/out was very quick and easy, and I also found the price to be quite reasonable considering the central location (however, USD conversion means I got a better deal than people paying with Canadian currency). Every staff member I interacted with was kind and helpful. Very convenient and safe location— I love cities and had business downtown so it was perfect for me, but if you don’t like the urban environment then this place is not for you.

I stayed here as I was getting surgery. I was originally set up in a very small room with no hot water. Needless to say, I was quite discouraged. My husband called the front desk and they went above and beyond. They moved us to another room as quickly as possible the hot water was splendid! And they did everything to make it up to us, including free breakfast vouchers l. When I returned from my surgery, the following day my room had been cleaned up so nicely and with such good care. The lady gave me extra pillows and towels. I would return here in a heartbeat. The staff are amazing and the hotel is very nice and clean. The food was great. Staying here made going through a tough time just a little bit easier. Thank you to the staff at the Holiday Inn!

Overall, I had a nice stay at this hotel. The bed wasn’t the most comfortable I’ve slept on, but it served its purpose and I slept fine. The only real downside was the parking. When we arrived, there was no clear signage indicating where hotel parking was located. I initially entered a nearby grocery store parking lot by mistake and had to call the hotel for clarification. The parking is actually at the back of the hotel, but this isn’t obvious and could definitely be better marked. Despite some negative reviews mentioning homelessness in the area, that was not my experience at all. Yes, you’ll see homeless individuals, as you would in any downtown core, but it was not overwhelming and did not impact my stay. The biggest highlight of this hotel is the location. Everything is within walking distance — restaurants, McDonald’s, Tim Hortons, Shoppers Drug Mart, Winners, and a grocery store nearby. The Eaton Centre is about a 20-minute walk, and the University of Toronto and Trinity College are also close by. Because of the central location, I barely needed my car during the stay. The room itself was good and well equipped. It included a fridge (no microwave), two bottled waters, and solid amenities. The bathroom had a glass shower door, which was a nice touch. I stayed on the quieter side of the hotel and found it very peaceful. I was told the front side is newer, but even where I stayed, the room didn’t feel outdated. One thing that could use improvement is the TV. While it was a flat screen, it didn’t support easy streaming access like Netflix or Disney+. Thankfully, I brought my own Roku, which worked perfectly. I didn’t try the breakfast because the buffet price was around $22–$23, which wasn’t worth it for me. With Tim Hortons so close, that was a much better option. Overall, this hotel is a solid choice if you want a convenient downtown location and a comfortable stay. The location alone makes it worth considering, and aside from the parking confusion and outdated TV setup, I had a very positive experience.

Highly recommend this warm and cozy hotel located in an amazing central neighbourhood in Toronto! Arrived just before the snowstorm and experienced warm greetings from Amannuel at the Front Desk--such kind hospitality and a genuine interest in helping us relax and get settled. Yishak the Front end Supervisor was extremely helpful as well--what a genuinely great human...he absolutely went above and beyond to ensure our stay was as good as it could be--(as we had to be at the hospital early the next morning). Yishak even offered to back out our vehicle as the parking lot is quite tricky to navigate (literally the only small quirk we experienced), he deserves special recognition as he literally brought tears to my eyes. Both of these gentlemen had smiles on their faces the entire time and made us feel welcome in the city and at the Holiday Inn. The room was super clean, cozy (yes the bathroom is a little small, but clean and had the essentials--including location!) and we both had the best sleep (comfortable beds, linens and pillows) that I think we've ever had at a hotel!! Enjoyed lunch at the restaurant (Thirty one) before we left and found the location quite convenient overall. Jenny was pleasant at check out and watched our luggage when we went for lunch...We will definitely be back! Thanks Holiday Inn--you have the right people, location, beds, pillows and attitude!
