Guests consistently praise the friendly staff, unique decor, and creative menu options, particularly for brunch and happy hour. However, noise levels can be a significant concern for some.

I attended a drag show at The Drake Hotel on June 6 for my friend’s birthday and had an amazing experience. The atmosphere was fun, welcoming, and full of great energy. Everyone was friendly and kind, which made the show even better. I also want to highlight Morgan ( I think this is the spelling of his name ) at the front desk, who was incredibly helpful. I had some trouble getting my ticket sorted out and he went above and beyond to assist me!! Taking the time to help over the phone multiple times and making sure everything was resolved. His kindness and effort really stood out and made a big difference in my experience. Thank you to Morgan you are the real MVP and OF COURSE the team for a fantastic !! would absolutely come back again just because how amazing Morgan was!!! Thanks again Morgan :)!

Had an incredible experience at The Drake Hotel. The atmosphere is vibrant, artistic, and full of character, making it much more than just a place to stay—it feels like a cultural experience in itself. The rooms are stylish, clean, and comfortable, with a unique boutique design that stands out. The staff were welcoming, professional, and always ready to help, which made the stay even more enjoyable. The food and drinks were excellent, and the overall vibe of the hotel—especially the lounge and common areas—was lively and creative. It’s a perfect spot for travelers who want both comfort and a trendy social atmosphere in the heart of Toronto. Overall, a fantastic stay. I would definitely recommend The Drake Hotel and look forward to visiting again.

Noisiest room since Thailand in my 20s - won't stay here again We had a one-night stopover en route from Vancouver to the UK. Hoping for a good night of sleep before the overnight flight to the UK in cramped airplane seats. We reserved a regular room. At check-in they told us we'd been 'upgraded' to a 'studio' room. Great! They didn't bother to mention that the new room was directly over the entrance to the Drake Underground dance club, on a Friday night. As a result, every time anyone came in or out of the main floor entrance directly under our room, we heard the door bang shut (it actually bangs three or four times each time someone goes in or out). And the place was bumpin'. Music pulsed and exuberant (loud) partyers came and went up 'til closing at 2 a.m., when all the club-goers poured out onto the sidewalk directly below our window. Let's just say some folks in the crowd were still feeling energetic. I'm glad they were having a nice time. For us, it sucked hard, and no one at the hotel had felt it was important to warn us of this. Sleep was not a realistic possibility. Otherwise the place was cute, interesting decor, appealing from an aesthetic perspective, etc. All positive qualities were far outweighed by the terrible night of sleep, which kind of is the whole point of a hotel room: a place to sleep. For me at least.

Stayed at the Drake Hotel on Queen while in Toronto for business and was pleasantly surprised. I usually stay at larger hotel chains, but this place has a cool, trendy vibe with lots of character. Most importantly, it was very clean. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the restaurant was fantastic with a great atmosphere. Not much in the immediate area, but it’s close enough that a quick cab downtown is easy. If you want something different from the typical chain hotel without sacrificing cleanliness or amenities, it’s worth checking out.

Went here for brunch and thoroughly enjoyed our experience. Our server Kyle was very warm, friendly and helpful with recommendations. Even though he had several tables to attend to, he remained patient and friendly all the while being attentive to all his patrons. We ate the Eggs Benny with smoked salmon and breakfast sandwich with sausage, both served with a side of house fries. Both items were delicious and made to perfection. The house hot sauce was by far one of the best I have eaten. This is a great place for brunch and good vibes.

Steak night @ The Drake on Mondays for $35. Great value for steak frites + a slice of cheesecake. Happy hour menu was also good with lots of affordable food & drink options. French fries weren't super to my liking, cut a little thick (I prefer more of a true, skinny fry) seasoned with something sweet? Almost cinnamon like? Steak was room temp and a little overcooked, medium instead of medium rare, but flavour was fine. Could have used some salt, which was absent from the table. Cherry cheesecake though was delish. Added a side caesar for $10 which was a good size & tasty. Atmosphere - gorgeous, they've done a great job renovating. I would think about returning for happy hour but can't necessarily say I would recommend steak night to others.

The atmosphere is really amazing and it is a great place for date night or brunch. Menu changes throughout the day so there’s a lot of variety. Went for happy hour and dinner menu. Steak tartare was $5 on the happy hour menu, great value and delicious. Lychee margarita was amazing if you like fruity and sweet drink! Presentation of the sushi is amazing. Everything came quickly and service was very friendly. Bonus: there’s an old school photobooth past the lobby!!

Had a really great lunch at The Drake for a friend’s birthday. I really like what they’ve done with the renovations—it feels a lot more cozy and warm now, just a very easy vibe to hang out in. The food was solid. We had the burger and fries and the umami bowl with salmon, both were delicious. Definitely save room for the coconut cake though; it’s really unique and worth the visit alone. We had some Prosecco too which was great. The staff were all super nice, especially Ryder who gave us excellent service, they also have a photo booth which was a cool touch for a birthday. Also, a heads-up if you’re driving: we found parking across the street for $4/hr through the Clicknpark app, which was super convenient. I’ll definitely be back to check out the live music for dinner sometime. Definitely recommend it for a casual catch-up.

i have to say, the $35 steak dinner is a deal that you CAN’T pass up on. our server was incredible, so friendly and personable - he has a beard and glasses - so good at his job. the steak was perfectly cooked, the fries were delicious, and the cheesecake to finish was the perfect ending to a great dinner. we also decided to hop on the half priced wine bottle special and the recommendation was perfectly paired with our food. atmosphere was amazing, decor was so cute, and the overall experience was everything i hoped for. i will be back!
