The Chelsea Hotel in Toronto offers a convenient downtown location with family-friendly amenities like a pool, play area, and rotating animal encounters. Recent reviews highlight the hotel's central location, proximity to major attractions, and occasional issues with cleanliness and room maintenance, particularly regarding temperature control and bathroom conditions. Despite renovations, some guests report outdated room features and inconsistent service.
Stayed for one night on Family Day Weekend with my kids and they had a blast! From the pool to the playplace to the lounge all of their new amenities are great. We also opted in for the add-ons of a pizza making class and their Tea Time Princess Breakfast - both were so much fun. Would recommend!
The hotel was easy find to get to. The parking access can be a little tight for trucks but we got in there fine with our F150. We spent the weekend watching a Jays game, shopping at the Eaton Center, and checking out the ROM. All of which were within walking distance even with kids. Our rooms were comfortable clean and quiet- no complaints at all. We were able to just see the CN Tower from our balcony which was nice. We only spent the night so we didnt get a chance to see much else of what the hotel had to offer. Check in and check out were pretty quick and efficient. I would definitely bring the family back for our next overnight in town.
Our stay at the Chelsea was arguably the best amongst all of the hotels we've been to. That's a big number. We wish to give all of the staff and owners of this splendid place of accommodation. Accommodation is an understatement in this case. They are extraordinarily attentive to their guests needs. Special thanks to Anthony,,Emrecan, Mohammed and Givan and all of the others that made this stay for our Son's heart surgery a most pleasant experience. We very highly recommend this perfect Hotel.
This is our favorite hotel when we visit Toronto. It is a couple of blocks away from the Eatons center, it is it n the heart of downtown Toronto. We have been staying here for 12 years now and we have seen some big changes. The hotel is ondergoing renovations and the parts that have been done look very nice and modern. There is an adult only pool on the 25th floor. My daughter loves the kids playroom. It just finished being renovated and it looks amazing. They have movie night on Friday and on Saturday they have different animals that they bring out letting the children touch or pet. There is a family pool, hot tub and a waterslide located beside the playroom. The waterslide is a good size and part of it goes outside the hotel. I would highly recommend this hotel if you need a place to stay downtown. It is clean, modern, affordable and convenient.
I was here with a friend to celebrate my recent engagement and our friendship of about 10 years. We arrived by 3pm to check in, the line looked daunting to check in but moved steadily. We were checked in then given directions to our room. Upon booking, it was mentioned we would be celebrating and if the hotel could make it a little *extra* special. Unfortunately that did not happen. We were pleased with the room and the accommodation; however, our view was of construction as the hotel is quite central in Toronto. The location is great close to shops, restaurants, stores, lounges, clubs and transit. We had booked a treatment at Elmwood spa, which was minutes walk. The room was clean, the bed was comfy, there were robes provided in the room. A mini fridge and espresso machine as well as 2 bottles of water. The hotel has fitness center, a pool for family and pool for adults only. During our visit the pool for family and children was under renovation so the adults only pool was used for everyone. In this area, there is lovely views of toronto, change rooms, hot tub and pool. We enjoyed this area but had wished for it to be adults only as that was a reason we had booked here. The staff was polite and helpful with any questions on our room, services, and surrounding area. Our stay was extended once we spoke with reception and requested such.
We were on the 14 floor and we were facing other buildings, so we couldn't get a good view, the beds were comfortable, the food was good, they were always respectful, the pool was always crowded but I had a really good time. They even had a children section, there were bunnies and games for children on the same floor with the pool, and there are workers as supervisors. The tv had great shows on air. And there was a Chinese market like 3 minutes away I went to when I wanted to get a snack.
Great location and within walking distance of a lot of different attractions. It is equidistant between the CN tower near the harbourfront, and then the ROM further north. The staff were friendly and our maid was very nice, always ensuring we had water refills even if we didn't need the room making up. Rooms were disappointing, the air con didn't work and so even in winter the rooms were too hot, the room was noisy with a mechanical sound all night (not the Aircon unit) which meant it was difficult to sleep. Ear plugs fully recommended. Our room had usb chargers through the lamps which was a good addition and meant we didn't need adapter plugs.
We stayed here Dec 22 as part of an anniversary trip to visit the Christmas market. The location is great, super close to the Eaton Centre and lots of food options nearby. Parking was super easy and not very busy. We got a free upgrade to an executive room on the 26th floor which was amazing!! The room itself was spacious, clean and comfortable. When we got back to our room at the end of the night we found our TV remote was dead but we called the front desk and a new one was immediately sent up- great service. My only complaint is that there was no shower products in our room.. every bottle in the shower was empty. I ended up having to wait to get home the evening that we checked out to shower
We stay here often as it’s close to the hospital. The staff is always so friendly and helpful and the rooms are clean and comfortable! We love the location - within walking distance to just about everything. There is a woman named Donna who works at the concierge desk and she is always SO sweet to our two girls!! We recently visited for my daughter’s appointment at Sick Kids and Donna always made a point to make the girls feel special. We are very grateful to this hotel and the staff for always making our trips here so memorable.
We stayed here for the night with family. The kids really enjoyed Santa and the hot chocolate and candy bar. They also have two Bunnies in the kids area. The hotel has some great amenities. However, you have to pay $44 for parking for the night. Once we checked in and went to our room, the room was never cleaned by housekeeping. Dirty bed, bathrooms, full garbage cans and smelled like cigarettes. The sink faucet was also falling off. I thought I walked in on someone else’s room. After speaking to a very rude housekeeper on the phone and hung up on me, I called back the front desk who offered 50% off the night. The balcony did have a great view. The restaurant is expensive and the service is terrible. We wanted to eat breakfast in the restaurant for a group of 10 and they were so annoyed by us and said it should be one bill because they accommodated us, even though there was only one other table there at the time. The kids pool was closed for renovations so we used the adults only pool which was filled up at 9pm. Thankfully I had great company and we made the best of it but not sure if we would return. Santa was absolutely amazing though and the location was great.
