Cambridge Suites Toronto offers a central downtown location with spacious suites, including separate living areas and bedrooms. While praised for comfort and convenience, particularly its proximity to the PATH and Mount Sinai Hospital, recent reviews highlight inconsistencies in cleanliness, staff service, and some dated amenities.
The best thing was the hot tub on the top floor and the location. At night, while in the hot tub, you could see all the lights from other buildings and the bustling city streets. Also, we were able to walk a close distance for a 5 star dinner and breakfast, that was not included in the high price of the "unmodified" room. When we showered, the water ran from the shower, under the door, and out to the closet into the other room. So if there is rust on the toilet/shower room door frame, be sure to ask for extra towels to stop your belongings from getting soaked, and/or stop a horrific fall. When returning to our room, we could hear other people's conversations in their rooms. The foul language and topics of conversation were not meant for passers by to hear. The ice machine was located on the top floor with the hot tub, fitness, and sauna. Not that it was bad, but just different. Service was fairly standard, but there was a long line of people trying to check-in at 4pm. Some people had to get back in line just to see if their room was ready after they had already been to the counter. We chose this location because we were interested in experiencing the PATH, but there was nothing open when we ventured down there early afternoon.
I booked the room through Agoda , and the price was almost half of the hotel’s regular rates, so I wasn’t expecting much. To my surprise, the room was very decent, comfortable, and absolutely worth the price. The room was clean, quiet, and spacious enough for a relaxing stay. It included a sofa and sitting area in one room, a separate bedroom, and a large washroom, which made the stay even more comfortable. The services were basic but completely sufficient for what I paid. I also got to enjoy a very beautiful morning view from my room window, and I clicked some lovely pictures there. As a solo female traveler, I felt peaceful, safe, and comfortable throughout my stay. The staff were very respectful, polite, and welcoming. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone planning to stay in downtown Toronto.
I stayed here for five nights on a business trip and had a very comfortable stay. The front desk staff were friendly, welcoming, and always willing to help. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, and the beds are very cozy, which made it easy to relax after a long day. The morning buffet-style breakfast is great. They serve scrambled eggs, bacon, sausages, pancakes, muffins, banana bread, toast, cereal, fruits, hash browns, and juice daily, and the coffee is very good. The hotel is centrally located in the heart of Toronto, which makes it very convenient for getting around the city. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a place to stay in downtown Toronto. One small suggestion would be to provide disposable slippers for guests.
I stayed for two nights at the start of February and it was great. The staff are super friendly and the room and amenities were great. I used the sauna and hot tub two days there and both well maintained and thankfully not busy. The gym is a bit small bit the cleanliness and availability of towels and water are great.
A very wonderful experience with them when we needed to find a hotel quickly. We paid to get a room early and we got that. Something. That was really nice that I've never seen before was that they will hold your bags for you. So when you come back to check in and go to your room, you don't have to carry your bags all over again. There's a sizable underground parking garage with plenty of space
Stayed in a suite for a last-minute work trip and was pleasantly surprised with how clean and tidy the room was upon my arrival. Despite being situated next to Yonge St, the noise from the street also wasn't bad at all considering it was a Friday evening, and the hotel was also very quiet. The only (very minor) qualms I will note for others who may care about these sorts of things: the front service reception was quite bad upon my arrival (the guy was clearly not in the mood for customer service) and being handed two warm complementary water bottles from a ripped case sitting on the floor wasn't the greatest aesthetic. In the hotel room, the fridge smelled like it had recently had rotting food in it, and the shower didn't drain properly. The room was also way too hot and didn't seem to cool down following multiple attempts to lower the temperature and turn on the fan, so I ended up just turning the heat off completely and cracking the window for the night as I slept. Other than these small issues, I would definitely recommend staying here based on price, location (at the heart of downtown and on every major transit line imaginable) and cleanliness.
I had professional friends coming from abroad and checked out hotels in the downtown area. When I got to Cambridge Suites the front desk staff, Tony and Brandon, were so courteous and helpful. They showed me the huge one-bedroom suite with executive desk, comfortable sofa and chair, plus coffee-making facilities in the main space and an excellent separate bedroom and bathroom - it was all a comparative bargain! My friends had only praise after their one week stay. So thank you, Cambridge Suites, and Tony and Brandon. We'll be back.
Exceptional stay during a stressful time We stayed here the night before surgery at St. Michael’s Hospital, and I truly cannot say enough good things about this hotel—especially given the circumstances. It was in the middle of one of Toronto’s biggest snowstorms, and the staff went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable and stress-free. They kindly allowed an early check-in and surprised us with a complimentary upgrade to an executive suite on a high floor, which made a huge difference. The room was extremely spacious, spotless, and incredibly quiet—you honestly cannot hear anything from other guests, which was such a relief before an early medical morning. The staff were warm, friendly, and genuinely caring. You can tell they understand how important comfort and calm are, especially for guests dealing with medical stays. The location is unbeatable: a 2-minute walk to St. Michael’s Hospital, about 4 minutes to the Eaton Centre, and surrounded by great restaurants—we walked to Milestones with ease. Everything you could need is right there. This hotel turned what could have been a very stressful night into a peaceful, reassuring experience. I would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend Cambridge Suites Toronto to anyone—especially those needing to be close to the hospital.
Great experience, Odiba was very helpful and made everything easy. I travel a lot and this is an extremely well run hotel. Only notes, the gym and breakfast aren’t amazing, but that’s normal for work travel in hotels. The service and execution was exceptional. Would definitely return
The Good: The Executive Suites are our go to room for few days during Christmas to spend staycation . We love the dining table and pull out sofa to watch tv and cozy up.. There’s Keurig and pods, microwave and mini fridge was nice but with ice build up and will not get your drinks cold. Sink to clean your utensils, glasses for your wine or drinks. Shop and do skating in the city. The spa upstairs and gym was good and clean. They finally opened the restaurant but only for breakfast and the free breakfast is way better than Hilton. The Staff at breakfast are all so nice and very quick and ample of Staff. There’s two gentleman are so very nice and one of them is Odibe Adole they speak to clients with respect and full of smile. I see them in the afternoon- night. You are in for a treat if they are on duty. The Parking with $28/day fees are inside a space that’s temperature controlled and covered. Also it’s on a path that you don’t need to go outside to walk to get to Eaton’s centre. The Bad: Toiletries are so tiny that we just bought shampoo, conditioner and body wash because it takes forever to get someone to answer the Housekeeping extension. I’ve noticed the Women staff hardly smile, it’s like they are there by force. The bedroom suite shows signs of wear and tears. Funny moldy smell in the toilet area/shower… I had to buy air fresheners to mask it. I also bought lysol to clean to see if it would help but didn’t hence the need for air fresheners. We called and I believe her name was Ana and told me I need to call the Reservation to find out if I am registered on days I booked. She sounded like she wanted to hang up straight away and doesn’t want to be bothered over the phone. To cut story short … I told her that Hotels should have booked guests on the system who are coming in 2 days and paid for months. She then able to help me but there was also an issue with my cc that I used to book but she failed to ask her Mgr on Duty of the right protocol in my case. Then she played it like “GOOD NEWS” I don’t need to pay again etc etc. it was such a negative experience prior to our arrival. The Housekeeping was all amazing when delivering extra stuffs or missing stuff but when I call either nobody answers or it’s slow. We get 2 free water bottles but guests need to go to the front desk to get it when needed. So much good potentials to get a better experience but I think it’s never the company’s priority.
