The Omni King Edward Hotel consistently receives high praise for its exceptional hospitality, luxurious atmosphere, and prime location in downtown Toronto. Guests frequently highlight the friendly and attentive staff, spacious and comfortable rooms, and convenient access to attractions and transportation. While some reviews mention minor issues, the overall experience is overwhelmingly positive, particularly regarding personalized service and memorable celebrations.
I had an absolutely amazing experience celebrating my 65th milestone birthday from February 13th to 14th at the Omni King Edward Hotel. From the moment we checked in, the guest service agent, was incredibly friendly and informative about the hotel’s restaurants and facilities. Her warm welcome immediately made us feel special and well taken care of. To make my birthday even more memorable, the hotel graciously upgraded us to a beautiful, spacious, and immaculate suite. The room was very clean, smells fresh & beautiful!!!When I entered the room, I was truly impressed by the thoughtful surprises waiting for me a delicious cake, a bottle of wine, and a personalized poem. These personal touches meant so much and made the celebration extra special. What truly stood out during our stay was the exceptional hospitality from everyone at the hotel. From the front desk team to housekeeping, the managers, and every staff member we encountered, everyone was genuinely friendly, warm, and accommodating. Each person we met contributed to making our stay feel welcoming and truly amazing. My entire experience at the Omni King Edward Hotel was outstanding. The genuine care, attention to detail, and personal touches made me feel valued and celebrated it honestly felt like a home away from home. I couldn’t have chosen a better place to celebrate such an important milestone. Thank you to the entire team for making my 65th birthday unforgettable!
Excellent staff. Well trained and professional 5 star service. John the Valet was Amazing. Omar our porter was great. Maddy was very welcoming. Front desk staff were very helpful and the bar tender was super! Warm, upscale atmosphere but not stuffy! Beds were SUPER comfortable.
We stayed at the Omni King Edward Hotel over the weekend and had a fantastic experience. The location is perfect — walkable to just about everything, which made getting around so easy. The staff were incredibly attentive, kind, and welcoming. Every interaction came with a smile and a friendly hello, which really stood out. The hotel itself was very clean and smelled lovely throughout. Our room was spacious, the bed was extremely comfortable, and the bathroom was beautiful and spotless. Overall, a wonderful stay from start to finish. We would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it.
We stayed in one of their regular Deluxe Room with 2 queen beds this weekend. Room was clean, beds were comfy, everyone slept great. Views were nice from the room (10th floor). Everything was as to be expected, and the lobby floor was very nice. Was a little disappointed that a room booked for 4 people only had 2 mugs and 2 waters accommodated. Room service is very expensive. And their breakfast is also very expensive for what it is compared to others. Also the front desk didn’t tell us that you need to use the room keys to work the elevator.. Great location as it’s a 10 minute walk from union station!
My fiancée and I have stayed with the Omni a couple times now and each visit has been great. The hotel is extremely clean and beautiful, with very friendly and helpful staff. Especially the front desk clerk, Madeline, who offered incredible service and made sure to make my fiancée and I's engagement trip feel very special. The hotel is also in a great location in old town Toronto, with easy subway and tram access, but also within walking distance to many of Toronto's attractions. Our room at the hotel was very clean and comfortable, and the cleaning staff did a great job tidying our room while we were away each day. This is by far the best hotel we've stayed at in Toronto.
We stayed herel from the 24th–26th and had a really great experience overall. The staff were warm and welcoming from the moment we arrived, and the hotel had a calm, comfortable feel that made it easy to relax. Our room was clean, cozy, and well looked after, with thoughtful details that made the stay feel a bit more special. The location was convenient for getting around, and I always felt safe and comfortable coming back at the end of the day. Everything was smooth and stress-free, which is exactly what you want from a hotel stay. I’d happily come back again and would definitely recommend it to others.
We are from parry sound and has a long drive and when we get at the hotel the reservationist (tugce) help us get our room early and help us very much with things we needed at the room even without asking. Everyone are superb , they are very friendly and knowledgeable, among all of them john the valet guy or bellman guy was superb, he was genuinely very helpful , friendly and very knowledgeable we felt very taken cared of throughout our stay, concierge katrina was very sweet and helpful with our excursion too and suggested nice restaurants but the hotel restaurant excelled among all the restaurants we dine in and end up coming back at the same restaurant, the server from breakfast lunch and dinner was excellent too food was really good and hot which we really appreciate so much as we love hot meals, the housekeeper makes our room very clean too and they are very super friendly . The hotel was extremely excellent everyone was superb. They made our Christmas vacation extra special
This was by far one of the best hotel stays I’ve had—and I travel a lot. From the moment I arrived, the staff was incredibly helpful and accommodating. They carefully walked me through all the amenities and perks included with my booking through the Amex Hotel Collection, which I really appreciated. The hotel itself is fantastic. I stayed during the holiday season, and the festive atmosphere made the experience even more special. The room was spacious, clean, and quiet, and the on-site gym and spa were wonderful. [Room: 8/10] The only downside was the heater—it was quite loud. That said, it’s an older building, so I understand there may be limitations. Additionally, the heater unit in the bathroom didn’t work, which made it a bit cold while showering. [Staff: 10/10] Special shoutout to Madeline (Maddy), who was exceptionally helpful and friendly. Every time I returned to the hotel, it truly felt like coming home. She made me feel genuinely welcome and was incredibly patient, walking me through everything during check-in. She honestly made my stay. [Amenities: 10/10] The gym and spa are excellent, and the hotel itself is both grand and charming. Overall, I was extremely impressed by The Omni King Edward Hotel. I’m a top-tier member with all the major U.S. hotel brands—every single one you can think of—and this was my first time staying with Omni. I can confidently say it surpassed many of my past travel experiences. The reviews are real—this place is truly a gem in Toronto. I will absolutely be staying here again; it already feels like my second home.
Extremely disappointed by how this was handled. My family made reservations at the beginning of the month for afternoon tea for our party of 11 people at the Omni King Edward Hotel. This was a special family outing, planned well in advance. The reservation was cancelled by the hotel with no explanation whatsoever. No apology of substance, no attempt to rebook, no alternatives offered, just a flat cancellation. While no reason was provided, it’s hard not to feel that smaller parties are simply disposable if a larger, more profitable booking comes along. If that’s the case, it’s incredibly poor practice and deeply disrespectful to guests who planned ahead and booked first. What’s most disappointing isn’t just the cancellation, but the complete lack of accountability or effort to make it right. A reputable establishment should at least attempt to accommodate, rebook, or explain. None of that happened here. If you’re considering afternoon tea at this hotel, be aware that your reservation may not be honored, even if you book weeks in advance. We will not be returning, and I would strongly caution others against relying on this venue for any special occasion.
Upon arrival, my best friend and I were greeted by friendly fast efficient staff. We arrived to our room and it was overall clean however the dirt green rag was left on top of the tv stand. The hotel itself is close to many restaurants and walking distance to Eaton's Center as well as the union station. Once main complaint is we ordered two breakfasts to arrive Sunday morning and only one was delivered. We had to ring and let the staff know we are still waiting on the second breakfast. This was unfortunate as my best friend and I obviously would have liked to eat together. Also we were charged delivery charge $6 both times. I did go to the front desk and the gentleman was kind to take off the one charge of $6 since it being their mistake of not bringing up both orders at the same time. However, due to the inconvenience, I believe that both delivery charges should have been waived. Overall it was a nice hotel but I feel like it wasn't up to par for what it should have been.
