The DoubleTree by Hilton Toronto Downtown consistently receives positive reviews, praised for its convenient location near public transportation and key attractions, and exceptional staff service. Guests appreciate the comfortable rooms, delicious dining options, and welcoming atmosphere, though some note the rooms can be small.
This hotel is an excellent choice if you’re planning to stay in the Toronto downtown area. It is close in access to a couple of the subway stops and walkable to just about anywhere downtown. There is a short 20 minute walk to get to the CN Tower, the Aquarium, or the Blue Jays Stadium. Also, it’s a straight walk and easy access to Union Station if you want to catch a train further abroad. As with all Doubletree, hotels, cookies are always available as well as fresh fruit at the front desk. They have a great grab and go shop with ease of purchase. They have a limited selection of Starbucks coffee 24/7 at the grab and go as well. The restaurant on site was wonderful. They have a great bar and friendly staff. They were very accommodating to a peanut allergy that we have in our family. We felt very safe, eating anything on the menu there with the guidance of the wait staff. The rooms were a bit small but very comfortable with plenty of drawer storage and closet. Space for all of our items. They have handy hooks on the wall for jackets and umbrellas. The AC and heating systems worked great and the shower had fantastic water pressure. The beds were comfortable and fresh as well. Our room up on the 17th floor had a partial city view and there were blackout drapes on the window that we could close if we wanted a good solid night’s sleep.
My family's stayed at this hotel during May. The location was super convenient with a very short walk to the subway, a street car stop just on the corner, and pharmacies, a barber, and a a grocery store all in like 5 minutes walking distance. Our check in experience was phenomenal, super kind and polite staff at check-in. The cleaners were also very thorough in keeping our room clean and with fresh towels and really polite to talk to. The room itself was amazing. We had a suite with a king bed and a pullout couch. The couch was actually comfortable in couch form and our kid slept great on the bed. The king bed in the room was one of the best hotel beds my wife and I have slept on in a long time. A reasonable amount of wear in the mattress (minor middle hump as one would expect with any king mattress), with no major dips. The support for the mattress was pretty perfect. We slept great, very quiet hotel too.
Check in service ????? my apologies I do not recall name of gentleman that checked us in. Service and information was helpful and courteous! Restaurant at hotel and service ?????again my apologies servers and I believe manager was outstanding. Chicken pot pie and pasta was fantastic. SNACK MIX was incredible. Concierge Justin was outstanding. Front desk Ryan was outstanding. 10 star ???????????????????? for both of these amazing gentlemen. Let me tell you this hotel is very lucky to have them. Was an absolute pleasure to meet them. What is/was unique is these gentleman were genuinely kind, courteous, helpful, funny and attentive in a genuine manner. That made our stay so much more enjoyable. All hail Ben and Jerry’s! I hope that I have the pleasure of seeing all of these amazing people in the near future!
Love love love this hotel!! It's a home away from home. I feel so welcomed and comfortable when we stay here. The rooms are pretty good. But its the staff!! Henry is an outstanding human. Always making sure we have everything we need and are comfortable. Manager Tara is so sweet and always willing to help, and make sure our stay is everything we want. Jing the concerige always goes above and beyond to help me. The trainees that have been following Henery and Tara are learning from the best hospitality team. Doubletree Hilton should be incredibly proud to have staff like the front end at their hotel. They make our challenging visits of Childhood Cancer a nice ease.
Staff is phenomenal. Not just front desk staff. All staff! So attentive. I found the rooms nice but small. Not paying attention had me trip a couple of times, as floor 17 had lifted carpet you had to be aware of. Great location. The Hemisphere restaurant had outstanding food. We will definitely return!
I stayed at the DoubleTree by Hilton this past weekend with my friends, and I honestly had such a great experience that I felt I had to write a review. I’m a student and I normally don't go out of my way to write reviews, but this place really stood out. The service was amazing from start to finish. I’m normally a clean freak, and I was very impressed the rooms were spotless, comfortable, and beautifully designed. Everything felt well taken care of and relaxing. I had breakfast during my stay, and it was perfect. There were so many great options, and everything tasted fresh and well prepared. I also want to especially mention our server, Juned, who was absolutely wonderful and sweet. As students were are often overlooked and ignored but Juned made sure we were comfortable and were taken care of. His kindness and great service truly made the experience even better. Location was perfect too with many restaurants and activities nearby. Overall, this stay exceeded my expectations, and I’m really glad we chose to stay here. I would definitely recommend the DoubleTree by Hilton and would love to come back again.
Started with check in which was fast, efficient and friendly. We were welcome with cookies a warm smile and great small talk. Room was clean, comfy and welcoming everything you would expect from a great hotel. Swimming pool was warm and child friendly as it was only 5ft whole way across. Everything was clearly laid out and accessible to make your stay smooth especially after a long day in the city. Finally had breakfast here as well our server Julian was friendly, kind and welcoming. He ensured our child had a great breakfast and made his stay in Toronto a memorable one, which is nice for the price of some of the downtown hotels. I would highly recommend this hotel over some of the others we have stayed at nearby.
Me and my partner stayed here for 1 night on a Wednesday and we both really enjoyed the stay. Upon checking in, we got 2 warm cookies which were delicious. The rooms were very clean and the beds were incredibly comfy! We checked out the amenities and I would say the gym has a lot of equipment and I appreciated the water dispenser there. We went for a swim and loved the temperature and size of the pool. My partner also told me how nice it was to have a sauna. I just wish the changerooms/showers in the pool and gym area had lotion - just like how the rooms have. The staff were very accommodating when it came to requests and I really appreciated the hospitality. The only complaint I had was that we wanted to sleep in a little bit but there was some sort of construction happening on the above floor and it was so loud - it went from 9am to checkout. I wish we were notified of this before choosing a room. Other than that, it was a great stay.
Was very impressed right from the get go. Staff was friendly and very accommodating. We were allowed an early check in and got two warm fresh cookies to enjoy. The beds are comfy. The bathrooms are spacious. The pool and sauna area was also very well kept. It is a great location to get around downtown. 5 out of 5 in my opinion.
A must stay for diamond members, I've stayed at countless Hiltons and hotels and this hotel is miles above the rest. I was met with a warm cookie on check in, and notified that me and a guest would be able to have a free breakfast buffet on each day of the stay. The location is perfect, walking distance to many reasonably priced and incredibly tasty restaurants. The card key accessible elevator offers an additional step of security, and minimizes foot traffic in the hallways. The combination allows me to have a restful sleep and feel more comfortable leaving my valuables in the room while exploring the streets of Toronto.
