The DoubleTree by Hilton Toronto Airport offers a convenient location near the airport and surrounding restaurants. While many guests appreciate the spacious and clean rooms, comfortable beds, and shuttle service, recent reviews highlight inconsistent service at the front desk and issues with outdated gym equipment and unclean pool areas. Some guests have also experienced billing discrepancies and concerns regarding the lack of amenities like complimentary coffee.
This is a very nice hotel in a convenient location, especially for travelers, since it is close to the airport and surrounded by several good restaurants. The rooms are spacious, clean, and comfortable, and the beds made it easy to get a good night’s sleep after a long day. The pool area is a nice bonus and provides a relaxing place to unwind. However, the gym was a disappointment—it is outdated and clearly in need of a deep cleaning. Most of the equipment was dirty, and there were limited towels and cleaning supplies available for guests to use. The gym would really benefit from a full refresh with newer equipment and better maintenance. In the room, the towels were a little rough to the touch, which took away slightly from an otherwise comfortable experience. The front desk staff was helpful when needed, but they were not particularly warm or friendly. The warm cookies available at check in were delicious!Overall, this hotel has a lot going for it and could be excellent with a few improvements.
Best business hotel in the area! Close to the airport when you land. Front office is friendly and I've always had a great check in experience. And oh they have cookies!! Clean well appointed rooms! Do you remember i said best place to stay when traveling for work? In the morning you've got a starbucks in the lobby on your way out and a decent pub for a quick bite and a beer at the end of the day. Absolutely love it!! The service at the restaurant is amazing!! The ladies that run the bar are pleasant and a always a pleasure to chat with when youre trying to wrap up your day, eat and get a night cap. 10/10 highly recommend this place as an "all in one". P.S - I dont love starbucks and the food could better but as a package this place cannot be beat. I think the service I get here plays a huge role in why I wouldn't stay anywhere else.
Not worth 600$ for 2 nights. Only reason I’m giving a 2 star instead of a 1 is because the beds were very comfortable. No microwave in the room, also the fridge was turned off so we quickly put our food in there when we checked in then took off to our adventure and then all our food was bad because the fridge was plugged in but turned off. Very bizarre. The pool had scum alllll over the bottom, the fitness room was so muggy and humid with really nothing in it, needed a fan at least for some air flow. They rooms were small and mediocre for 240$ a night. You can find better near the airport that have free parking and breakfast. Turtle jacks had this weird foul smell at the hotel entrance. Overpriced as well for shitty food. Better hotels nearby for cheaper and better amenities. Won’t be coming back.
This property offered a group rate stating that it included taxes. The confirmation also stated total price included taxes. When we arrived, they did not honor the price saying it was a mistake. Hilton Corporation said they will not get involved in billing issues. Worst hotel experience I have ever had. Besides that issue, front desk staff is not friendly or welcoming either. I would suggest one of the many other hotels in the area. Update: I called the phone number list in the response I received on Monday and was sent to voicemail. Still have not received a call back.
I cant say enough good things about this hotel. The rooms were great and the location is convenient, but most importantly was their customer service. I had booked a room using what turned out to be a 3rd party site that never actually ended up making the reservation. I was left stranded in Toronto with my young child, wife and parents. We tried to find rooms but everywhere was booked solid as a result of a bunch of business conventions going on that week. Rhythm, the front office Manager, as well as the other staff worked for over an hour, and was finally able to make a spot in the hotel for us. I cannot thank them enough.
I strongly do not recommend this hotel due to its extremely poor service. After checkout, I realized I had left an item of clothing in the room. However, both the cleaning staff and the front desk claimed they never saw it. Despite multiple follow-up emails and phone calls over several days, there was no substantive resolution—their handling was utterly perfunctory. It is unacceptable that the hotel staff casually handle guests' belongings and then refuse to acknowledge it. The management appears chaotic, and the overall experience was terrible.
Good: The location was good. The airport room's view was the best, completely worth paying a little more for that. Shuttle service to and from Airport was completely hastle free and very good. Most of the staff specially the day staff was excellent. Very happy, friendlyyy and solve the problem. The day based parking charge is pretty high though. Bad: The night staff on the reception were extremely rude and very bad. I had a guest who did not know about the Parking rules, they intercomed to enquire at the reception and the reception said read it there and hung up, he couldnt find anything so called again on which the staff started miss behaving. When he went inside to ask, he threatened to leave or he will call the police instead of guiding. It was very disappointing to see my guests being treated this way. Other than this the hotel was excellent along with all the other staff specially the day staff who went extra mile to help me with my luggage when I came in early to checkin. Definetely recommended and would stay again for sure.
The room was clean and comfortable, and the hotel itself was well-maintained. The location itself is minutes to the airport which is what our stay was intended for. However, our experience with the concierge, Madah Khalid was disappointing and frankly, inhospitable. The concierge was not friendly and displayed a hostile attitude towards both my husband and I. She made us both feel uncomfortable during our check out. While the accommodations were good, the lack of quality customer service at the front desk was a significant issue that needs to be addressed. We will not be staying here again. As frequent travelers who have stayed in countless hotels across various brands nationally and internationally, we can confidently say we have never experienced this level of poor service. We were let down by this experience because we know that the Hilton brand is held in high regard. The service is atrocious. The concierge are the first people guests will meet and these interactions are what will stick to the brand and hotel. If you are just a solo guest and just need a place to stay for the night or for a couple of hours this is fine, however if you want to feel comfortable and welcomed, this is not the place for you. I will be contacting Hilton Hotels & Resorts customer service about the concierge so no other couple/guests feel this way at check in and check out.
We enjoyed the hot tub, but wished it was open late enough for us. The restaurant had a great breakfast made to order. Starbucks in the hotel. Really enjoyed the dessert.free warm cookies at the front desk. Took the airport shuttle to the airport to catch the train to the city everyday. Really easy to get around without a car.
Everything about the hotel was fine until the morning of checkout when we were completely tricked into paying $46 for a “breakfast buffet.” The front desk clerk failed to mention that not all rooms include breakfast . I even told him we were just interested in coffee, and instead of clarifying, he told me I had “10 minutes left.” You would think he’d mention or double check if my ticket actually included it. My mom had a coffee, we had a mini croissant each , and a couple pieces of cantaloupe — and the server proceeded to drop off a bill for $46 ($23 per person). Outrageous. There are no signs anywhere indicating the cost, no menu, no option to see prices. At check-in we were only told the location and hours of breakfast, never the cost. I went back to the front desk to ask why this wasn’t disclosed, and the customer service was terrible. Paying almost $50 plus tip for cold eggs, fruit, and coffee is absurd. The gentleman working the desk Sunday Aug 24 around 9:30am clearly withheld this information to hustle an extra $50 out of us. The place itself is decent, but this left a very bad impression and ruined the end of our trip. I will not be back. Waiting to see if management offers any kind of solution, but as of now — terrible customer service and a complete rip-off.
