The TOOR Hotel is a recently opened Hyatt property in downtown Toronto, receiving largely positive reviews for its modern design, friendly staff, and comfortable rooms with modern amenities. However, some guests have expressed concerns about the location, breakfast options, and soundproofing.
We recently booked two rooms at TOOR and were very happy with our stay. The rooms are clean and reasonably sized for downtown Toronto. All staff we interacted with were extremely friendly and helpful. Would absolutely book again.
Had a great stay at Toor. Chris and team were very welcoming and even helped to changed my room when I had requested one with a better view. Overall very nice and good, central location. Down the street, I did notice a couple of strange characters on a few occasions but keep your wits with you and it shouldn’t be any issue.
I recently visited TOOR Hotel while touring the grounds as potential meeting and event sites for my clients, and I was truly blown away. The architecture is stunning—modern yet inviting—and it genuinely gives you that home away from home feeling from the moment you walk in. What really set the experience apart was Lenore, the Planning Director. Her depth of knowledge, attention to detail, and personable approach made the tour exceptional. She took the time to understand my clients’ needs and confidently walked me through how the spaces could be used to create memorable experiences. I left feeling inspired and excited, and I can’t wait to book TOOR Hotel for an upcoming event. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a beautiful, well-thought-out venue with an incredible team behind it.
I had my assistant book a room at this hotel, my flight to Toronto was cancelled due to weather. Unbeknownst to me, my assistant booked a prepaid room and as a result, even though I gave more than 24 hours notice to cancel, they were still only willing to give 50% credit on my card. This new hotel by Hyatt with these policies is NOT consumer friendly, I certainly would not recommend staying there….read the FINE print!!
This hotel is a great addition to the Hyatt portfolio in Toronto. My stay here was great, played in big part by the exceptional breakfast for Globalists. I truly hope that it doesn’t change. The staff were all very friendly and hospitable, and 4pm late checkout was added without any issues. The normal rooms here are quite small, so I appreciated being upgraded to a deluxe room. Being a new hotel, it’s filled with modern conveniences like motorized blinds, lighting controls by the bed, wireless charging and usb c charging ports. The soundproofing is also quite good, I couldn’t hear any street noise. The shower head was a little disappointing, it didn’t provide a lot of coverage as the stream was too narrow. I did like the toiletries by Zenology, which were also made in Canada. I liked that there’s a terrace on the 14th floor, which provides great views. The surrounding area isn’t the best, and it’s a little bit of a walk to the nearest subway station at the Eaton Centre. I personally never felt unsafe walking around, but it’s also not an area I would like to be in any longer than I needed to.
This is a new hotel in a great location. Within walking distance to Eaton Center and Sankofa Square. The rooms were very modern and clean. My room had Floor to Ceiling windows with automatic/electronic blinds. Customer Service was great and very friendly. Will definitely stay here again.
This was perhaps the best hotel experience I've had across several countries and many many brands and locations. To be fair, I'm a pretty self sufficient traveler and I don't usually have many 'demands.' But from the moment I walked in, I knew I'd chose wisely. The decor is understated and beatiful at the same time. The bar / restaurant and staff are a wonderful delight. The gentleman who checked me in should be training other hotel front desk staff -- just the right balance of on it and pushy in all the best ways. The room was simple and beautiful with lots of natural light. I cannot say enough positive things about this property. I hope I make it back soon soon
The location is very shady, it is a close walk to many amenities and downtown but it is next to a park where a lot of homeless people hang out. Saw some sketchiness in our walks home. Reason we chose to stay downtown was for walking convenience but I would not feel safe walking late at night here. The rooms are nice but small, the view and access from the terrace was nice. The check in desk is small and they’re slow. Our room was not ready at check-in time we were asked to wait at the bar but the drinks were not complimentary. The blinds in the room did not work properly and were a pain to close at night. Coffee and water all provided and complimentary self-serve laundry available. No kettle or microwave in the room. Lots of little snacks/drinks for a price took over the counter space. The hotel itself lacks some accessibility with some of the buttons to open doors only available in one side of the hotel or from the inside. And some of the buttons in hard to reach places covered by a table. The accessibility button to open the terrace door did not work as well.
I really enjoyed my stay at TOOR Hotel. The building feels brand new and beautifully designed, with big windows and a modern, cozy vibe. My room was spotless, comfortable, and had little touches like a Nespresso machine and smart lighting that made it feel extra thoughtful. The staff were genuinely kind and helpful, always greeting me with a smile and making sure I had what I needed. The location is also great — close to downtown spots but still tucked away enough to feel calm. I also loved the rooftop terrace and the restaurant downstairs — both felt stylish yet relaxed, perfect for winding down after a day out. Overall, it’s the kind of place that makes you feel both taken care of and at home. I’d definitely stay here again.
Good location, clean room, helpful staff - but limited breakfast options The hotel enjoys a great location – many main sights are within walking distance, and the nearby subway and bikeshare offer easy access to the rest of the city. This is a modern hotel with floor-to-ceiling glass exterior walls and a guest terrace on 14th with great views. Corner room was clean, comfortable and well-equipped, but faced the busy street intersection and nearby hospital so traffic and ambulance noise were frequent. Light sleepers may prefer a room facing away from the street – or/and bring earplugs and an eye mask for better rest. The hotel provides useful amenities: daily bottled water, water fountains and ice machines on every second floor, complimentary coffee and tea in-room, and guest laundry facilities. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout my stay. Breakfast is à la carte, with a fixed menu of 11 mainly French-style dishes, which is not clearly noted online. However, staff were accommodating and willing to prepare lighter versions of dishes within menues upon request. Overall, a very pleasant stay with excellent cleanliness and service – just be mindful of the breakfast format and room orientation.
